The Ron Helus Blue Bowl Flag Football Tournament is to benefit the family of Ron Helus.  This is a flag football tournament made up of men, woman and children. The Blue Bowl teams are made up of local businesses, Families, Co-workers, friends, police officers and residents of the area to come together and unite to show support for Law Enforcement and help the families of our Fallen Officers. Our pre-game memorial usually has local, national leaders and speakers who support Law Enforcement. This is never political. We believe that strengthening local and national leaders is important to help support law enforcement and to unite everyone to get respect back for law enforcement.

The Ron Helus Blue Bowl Co-Ed Flag Football Tournament has been postponed. Please check back for future date. We have refunded all sponsors and teams. The money raised was to go to honor the family and law enforcement. We will re-schedule soon. We will have a great pre-memorial service which includes bag pipes, presenting of the colors, moment of silence and a few words from Wayne Bilowit from Governor Newsome's Office, NFL Agent Leigh Steinberg, Actor Scott Baio, Attorney Ronda Kennedy and our Founder Rosemary Zore. We will present area law enforcement agencies a check, trophy and game ball during this memorial followed by the National Anthem presented by Joy Villa.  We will also have former and current Los Angeles Rams players on site for pictures and autographs. We will also have the Blue Bowl Fan Zone where you can Kick and Throw like the pros.

Our Mission

The Blue Bowl Rules

The Blue Bowl Flag Football is played on a normal football field divided into 1/3 and played sideline to sideline. Each game has two twenty minute halves which leads to a game length of approximately one hour with clock stoppages. All Blue Bowl games will have two refs. At it's core Blue Bowl Flag Football is a NO CONTACT AND NO BLOCKING GAME! We enforce any kind of blocking anywhere on the field....blocking leads to contact, contact leads to crazy things like injuries and fights, and we don't like either one. Our rules favor the offense, and we like high scoring games with lots of plays and lots of touchdowns.

  • 7 on 7 1 Female on the field for each team at all times.

  • One Foot in bounds for reception.

  • Two twenty minute halves- stop clock 2 minutes 2nd half.

  • Must cross 2 orange cones for a first down.

  • 6 point touchdowns.

  • Choice of 1 or 2 extra points on PATs (3 paces for 1 pt, 10 paces for 2 pts)

  • Two point conversion attempts may be intercepted and returned for two points.

  • Dead ball on all fumbles- laterals can be intercepted and returned.

  • No kickoffs- but there are punts.

  • Quarterback can run with the ball anytime.

  • Defense can not rush the QB until the line ref has started saying “GO” at the end of the “5
    dog” rush count.

  • There are no ties.
