The Fallen Officers which supports the Robert L. Zore Foundation is pleased to announce “The Joseph Bullock Scholarship” for any candidate pursuing a career into the Florida Highway Patrol. This scholarship will be issued once a year in the amount of $1,000.00 in the name of Master Trooper Joseph Bullock. The Robert L. Zore Foundation will present the winner of the $1,000.00 scholarship this year at their Mission 2244 Gala March 13, 2020 and each year after.
Master Trooper Joseph Bullock was shot and killed on February 5, 2020 when he encountered a disabled vehicle on I-95 just north of the interstate rest area in Martin County. He stopped to assist what he believed to be a disabled motorist at about 10:15 am. One of the occupants of the vehicle fatally shot him as he approached . A Riviera Beach police officer who happened to be driving past the scene shot and killed the subject. Trooper Bullock was a U.S. Air Force veteran and had served with the Florida Highway Patrol for 19 years. He is survived by his parents and two sisters.
