About the event
Saturday November 3, 2018 Estero High School, Estero FL.
The Fallen Officers - Robert L Zore Foundation hosted a flag football tournament to raise money for the family of Officer Jobbers-Miller, and Ben Zirbel as well as other families of police officers killed while on duty around the state and across the country.
The president of the foundation, Rosemary Zore, said that the issue of officers killed while on duty to her is personal, as her father, a Miami-Dade Police Officer, was killed in the line of duty when she was seven-years-old.
“Police officers put on that uniform every day, and they don’t know if they are coming home. they have to make split-second decisions every day that could end their life or someone else’s unfortunately.” Rosemary Zore said.
The community came together for this great event with appearances from Congressman Francis Rooney and Congressman and Governor Candidate Ron DeSantis.
Local companies from SWFL came together to put teams on the field as well as police officers and residents of SWFL.
The opening ceremonies included Bag Pipes, The Fort Myers Honor Guard and speeches by Rosmeary Zore the founder of the Fallen Officers, PNC Spokesperson Russell Beckner, Congressman Francis Rooney and Congressman Ron DeSantis. There was a presenting of the check to the family of Adam Jobbers-Miller family. Ben Allen performed the National Anthem which was followed up by a Helicopter fly over to end the ceremonies.
A special thanks to all the companies that made this possible. We also would like to congratulate team Platinum Real Estate for defeating Team Enterprise in the Championship Game to take home the First Annual PNC Bank Flag Football Trophy and the Championship.
We have to say that all the teams, all the residents, all the police and all the volunteers and everyone that helped out...YOU ARE ALL CHAMPIONS!!
