The money raised by sponsors, team registrations and donations will go to helping the family of Garrett Hull and The Fallen Officers. We will have a great pre-memorial service which includes bag pipes, presenting of the colors, moment of silence and a few words from our Title Sponsor, Governor, Congressional and Senate leaders as well as local leaders and law enforcement. We will present the family with a check during this memorial and followed by the National Anthem and a fly over by the Fort Worth Police Helicopter.
Corporal Garrett Hull succumbed to a gunshot wound sustained the previous night as he and other members of the Criminal Intelligence Unit attempted to apprehend three armed robbery suspects.
The officers had been conducting surveillance of the three suspects, who had been involved in more than 15 armed robberies in which three people were shot. The suspects entered a bar on the 400 block of West Biddison Street shortly before midnight and robbed the 10 patrons at gunpoint. As they fled from the building the officers attempted to take them into custody.
All three suspects attempted to flee on foot into the surrounding neighborhood. During the foot pursuit, one of the men opened fire, striking Corporal Hull in the head. Other officers returned fire and killed the subject before placing Corporal Hull in a patrol car and transporting him to a hospital.
The other two suspects were apprehended nearby.
Corporal Hull succumbed to his wounds the following evening.
Corporal Hull had served with the Fort Worth Police Department for 17 years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of corporal.
RULES:
The Blue Bowl Flag Football is played on a normal football field divided into 1/3 and played sideline to sideline. Each game has two twenty minute halves which leads to a game length of approximately one hour with clock stoppages. All Blue Bowl games will have two refs. At it's core Blue Bowl Flag Football is a NO CONTACT AND NO BLOCKING GAME! We enforce any kind of blocking anywhere on the field....blocking leads to contact, contact leads to crazy things like injuries and fights, and we don't like either one. Our rules favor the offense, and we like high scoring games with lots of plays and lots of touchdowns.
One Foot in bounds for reception.
Two twenty minute halves- stop clock 2 minutes 2nd half.
Must cross 2 orange cones for a first down.
6 point touchdowns.
Choice of 1 or 2 extra points on PATs (3 paces for 1 pt, 10 paces for 2 pts)
Two point conversion attempts may be intercepted and returned for two points.
Dead ball on all fumbles- laterals can be intercepted and returned.
No kickoffs- but there are punts.
Quarterback can run with the ball anytime.
Defense can not rush the QB until the line ref has started saying “GO” at the end of the “5
